CONDITION INSPECTIONS

Vessels are valuable assets with intricate structural and mechanical requirements. As vessels near the end of their economically useful life, their condition deteriorates, with values falling and risks rising. For shipping investors and funders who are typically removed from the day-to-day ownership and operation of these assets, it is essential to assure that vessels are maintained in accordance with industry standards, with values as well as asset-integrity maintained, while risks are reduced. A periodic condition assessment of your asset is a simple and cost-effective way of mitigating the risks of premature value depreciation, asset degradation, and increased risk (s).

Amitisara is a leader in providing quality, inclusive, and objective Situation Inspections to the global shipping industry. Since early 2007, we have been providing unparalleled insights into the condition of a wide range of vessel types, and we have developed a new digital inspection framework that ensures a consistent and objective assessment, every time. It is worth mentioning that  the all-important Amitisara Grade, which has now become the "best model" in which financial companies, shipowners, and other stakeholders believe and trust. Amitisara provides quick report turnaround, a broad global reach, and a competitive price. PRE SALE INSPECTIONS

Sellers may eventually lose control of the inspection process, as well as invest significant time and resources, both onboard and ashore, in supporting multiple inspectors, who each has a different request for information and, as a result, a different viewpoint on the ship's condition.

Finally, sellers must simply wait and hope that the buyers make a fair and decent assessment of the condition of their vessel and that the time and effort spent coordinating the multiple inspections results in a firm and appealing offer. In response to these challenges, Amitisara has developed a new framework to S&P inspections that presents a fixed, trusted inspection report to the global market, along with an appealing "special discount" system that can significantly reduce the cost to sellers.

Maritime compliance: EEXI – Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index

The IMO has set a goal of reducing carbon intensity by 40% over the next decade up to 2030, and by 50% overall (70 percent intensity) by 2050. Various measures were considered and widely debated, such as the implementation of a speed limit. With nearly a decade of market-driven slow steaming experience, this measure appears promising in terms of its potential to reduce CO2 emissions. The Energy Efficiency Design Index for existing ships (EEXI) will enter into force in 2023. Guidelines on calculations, surveys and verification of the EEXI will follow at MEPC 76. Most procedures will be the same as for the EEDI, with adaptations regarding limited access to design data.

Except for ships that were previously built in accordance with EEDI Phase 2 or 3 requirements, most types of ships require an EEXI Technical File. The EEXI Technical File contains a calculation of the attained EEXI, which must be less than a required EEXI value. This needed EEXI value is specified for various ship types, with minimisation rates based on the EEDI reference curve. The EEXI Technical File must be decided to submit to class in time for confirmation and then carried on board. These reduction rates are in the range of EEDI reduction rates related to Phases 2 and 3, implying that they are nearly in accordance with current new building requirements.

P&I INSPECTIONS

In today's world of stringent maritime regulations, a shipowner must ensure compliance while also protecting seafarers. The marine P&I surveyor (or local correspondent) conducts onboard inspections to determine the seaworthiness of a ship and make suggestions based on findings to make shipping safer and more efficient. A regular P&I survey also security and peace of mind and fosters a culture of trust on board.

As a result, P&I surveys have proven to be significant in the shipping industry. The Amitisiara Group's P&I surveys assist customers in reducing risks, increasing efficiency, and improving environmental and safety standards for those on board. P&I surveys can assist ship owners and operators in reducing risk at sea and avoiding potential accidents. They can also assist in ensuring smooth, uninterrupted business operations.

FLAG STATE INSPECTIONS

We have extensive experience in the flag state environment, and we attend vessels on behalf of various flag state authorities to perform annual inspections, ensuring that the vessels meet the required standard nationality and internationally. We also conduct casualty research on behalf of flag states, assisting the administration in fulfilling their obligations under the UNCLOS and SOLAS regulations, as well as for the purposes of casualty reporting to the IMO. When examining incidents, we provide detailed analysis to determine causation and can assist with suggestions to avoid reoccurrence of the casualty. This is also to assist ships ‘owners, the manager, operator and their crew to handle PSCS’ inspection more efficiently .

Port state inspection control

Covid crisis has affected the management of vessels. Due to its travel restrictions, delays and difficulties the vessel inspections by super intendants have become, very difficult, costly and in many cases almost impossible.

Amitisara can provide such inspections on behalf of the management companies for assess the condition of their vessels as well as performance of their crew member.
